“We exist to make you think — not to tell you what to do.”
Editorial Standards & Disclaimer
Everything published on LUCENT is written to provoke reflection — not to prescribe action. We hand you ideas, patterns, and questions worth sitting with. What you do with them is yours to decide. That is the whole point: most people run on autopilot. We would rather hand you a mirror than a map.
The sections below explain, plainly, what our writing is — and what it is not. Please read them the way we wrote them: honestly.
This is editorial, not advice
LUCENT is an editorial publication about neuroscience, psychology, and human behavior. Our content is for educational and informational purposes only. It is not medical, psychological, psychiatric, legal, financial, or other professional advice, and it is not a substitute for a consultation with a qualified professional who knows your specific situation.
Reading LUCENT does not create a doctor–patient, therapist–client, or any other professional–client relationship between you and LUCENT, NEORON Inc., or any of our writers or editors.
How we write about public figures
In DECODED, we explore the thinking patterns of well-known people — how they appear to decide, focus, create, and operate — so our readers can borrow something useful for their own minds. The spirit is admiration and curiosity: “that’s interesting, I want to think like that too.” Respectful, occasionally playful, never cruel.
These pieces are commentary and opinion based on publicly available information — interviews, public statements, reporting, and the public record. We do not diagnose anyone, and we do not state as fact that any individual has a mental health condition, disorder, or illness. We have never examined the people we write about. Any inference about how someone thinks is our informed interpretation, not a clinical finding or a statement of fact about that person’s health.
Your decisions are your own
We are glad when something you read here changes how you see a problem. But any decision you make — about your health, relationships, work, money, or anything else — is yours, and you make it at your own discretion and risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, LUCENT and NEORON Inc. are not liable for actions taken, or not taken, based on our content.
On relationships, intimacy, and the body
Some of our writing covers relationships, sexuality, and the neuroscience of intimacy. It is educational and written with clinical seriousness — never sensational, never a substitute for a medical provider, a licensed therapist, or a qualified counselor. If something you read raises a personal concern, please talk to a professional.
If you’re struggling
LUCENT is not a crisis service. If you are in the United States and in emotional distress or thinking about self-harm, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), available 24/7. If you are anywhere and in immediate danger, contact your local emergency number right away. You deserve real, human help — not an article.
Sources, accuracy, and external links
We work hard to be accurate and to ground our writing in credible research and reporting. Science evolves, summaries simplify, and no publication is error-free. We may update pieces as understanding changes. If you spot something wrong, tell us — we will look into it.
LUCENT sometimes links to third-party sites. We do not control that content and are not responsible for it.
Our relationship with NEORON
LUCENT is owned by NEORON Inc. NEORON does not dictate our editorial decisions. When NEORON appears on this site as a sponsor or advertiser, it is clearly marked as such.
By using LUCENT, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Editorial Standards & Disclaimer. This content reflects opinion and educational analysis and should not be relied upon as professional advice.
